7. Pique Turns
- A travelling turn on one foot with other foot raised and doing stylish movement action while travelling
- All the turns are done on one and the same foot
8. Military Turns
- About face turn used in marching
- A simple half turn to the left or right
- Pivot turn to the right or to the left
- You can step forward with the left foot and then a pivot turn to the right
- Alternatively, you can forward step with your right and pivot to the left
- In our salsa class we use this in our Front Cross Step i.e., Cross, Step, Step, Cross Step Step, 1,2,3, *, 5,6,7. *
9. Spot Turns
- A turn involving keeping one foot on the spot while turning
- For a right turn, keep right foot on the spot and then turn right
- For a left turn keep left foot on the spot and then turn to your left left
- This turn involves front cross over step
- This turn is very common in Rumba
10. Chasse Turn
- A step-ball change turn with alternating feet
- Turining either to the right or left; inside or outside
- Commonly used in Cha Cha
11. Tuck Turns
- A stationary turn with one foot tucked into the in step of the weighted foot
- This is essentially a spin turn
- The emphasis here is how you position the un- weighted foot
- It needs to be tucked into the spinning foot.
